GOLF: Tiger Woods not ready to play in key TGL regular-season finale
Tiger Woods will miss the TGL regular-season finale for Jupiter Links GC as he continues recovering from a torn Achilles and back surgery, while teammates Max Homa, Kevin Kisner, and Tom Kim aim to secure a playoff spot against The Bay Golf Club. Woods hasn’t ruled out a possible return at the Masters in April.

Tiger Woods will not be in the lineup for his TGL team, Jupiter Links GC, when it faces The Bay Golf Club in its regular-season finale on Tuesday.
Jupiter currently sits in fifth place in the six-team standings, just one point shy of the playoff cut line. A win against Bay would be enough to secure a spot in the postseason.
The lineup for Jupiter will feature Max Homa, Kevin Kisner, and South Korea’s Tom Kim. They will face Wyndham Clark, Sweden’s Ludvig Aberg, and Australia’s Min Woo Lee for Bay.
Woods may miss the entire second season of the indoor simulator golf league he co-founded with Rory McIlroy. Should Jupiter qualify for the playoffs, the team would play a semifinal match on March 17, with the finals scheduled for the following week.
The 15-time major champion is slowly recovering from a torn Achilles suffered in March 2025 and his seventh back surgery in October. In January, Woods explained why he was not yet ready to compete in the TGL format.
"I'm moving up to short irons, so that's about it," Woods said. "I need a little bit more than that to be able to play. At my speed right now, I could probably play the Stinger hole, just kind of roll it off the tee. But no, I'm progressing, which is nice. I'm getting there and getting stronger. It just takes so much time for the bone to heal and set."
When speaking to reporters at the Genesis Invitational last month, Woods did not rule out playing in the Masters in April and said he is now able to hit full shots.
"Not well every day, but I can hit them," he said.
