Inclement weather forced a temporary suspension of Thursday’s first-round action at The Players Championship.
Officials sounded the horn around noon ET, holding players in position as windy and rainy conditions affected play at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
At the time of the delay, Maverick McNealy and England’s Tommy Fleetwood were tied for the lead at 5-under. McNealy, who started on the front nine, had played 12 holes, while Fleetwood, starting on the back nine, was through 11.
The weather delay lasted 21 minutes before play resumed.
