GOLF: Aberg says travel woes left his driver snapped in half ahead of Open

Sweden's Ludvig Aberg has endured a difficult start to his trip overseas ahead of this week's British Open in Southport after encountering a series of travel mishaps.

Aberg revealed on Tuesday that he experienced travel issues after flying to Sweden following his appearance at the Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Connecticut. His luggage was misplaced for three days before it was finally returned.

However, the problems did not end there. When Aberg opened his golf bag, he discovered that his driver had been snapped in half. He also found that his Foresight launch monitor, which he uses to analyze his swing and ball flight, had been cracked.

"When I pulled it out, my driver was snapped in half," Aberg said during a walk-and-talk at Royal Birkdale that was posted on the British Open's X account. "My Foresight, the launch monitor that I use, was cracked in half."

The travel setbacks may have contributed to Aberg's struggles at last week's Scottish Open, where he failed to make the cut.

Currently ranked No. 20 in the world, Aberg is making his third appearance at the British Open. He is scheduled to play the opening two rounds at Royal Birkdale alongside Cameron Young and Wyndham Clark.
