The Seattle Seahawks are hiring Brian Fleury, the San Francisco 49ers tight ends coach, as their next offensive coordinator, according to ESPN and NFL Network.
The reigning Super Bowl champions had a vacancy after Klint Kubiak left to become the Las Vegas Raiders head coach. Kubiak, in turn, hired Seattle quarterbacks coach Andrew Janocko as the Raiders’ offensive coordinator, the team announced Sunday night.
Fleury switches NFC West teams after seven seasons with the 49ers in various roles. He became San Francisco’s tight ends coach in 2022 and added the title of run game coordinator this past season. Fleury coached a tight end room led by seven-time Pro Bowler George Kittle.
Fleury began his NFL career as a quality control coach with the Buffalo Bills in 2013. He then coached linebackers for the Cleveland Browns for two seasons and worked in analyst roles for the Miami Dolphins from 2016-18.
Janocko spent only one season with Seattle on Kubiak’s staff. He previously worked under Kubiak as quarterbacks coach with the New Orleans Saints in 2024 and the Minnesota Vikings in 2021. He also served as the Chicago Bears quarterbacks coach from 2022-23. This will be Janocko’s first role as an NFL coordinator.
Meanwhile, the Raiders are also hiring Matt Robinson as defensive secondary coach, according to reports.
Robinson, 32, was announced Friday as assistant defensive line coach with the New York Giants, one of 15 coaches who followed new head coach John Harbaugh from the Baltimore Ravens to New York. The Giants allowed Robinson, per league rules, to make a lateral move to Las Vegas.
Rob Leonard, promoted Sunday to defensive coordinator under Kubiak, previously worked with Robinson in Baltimore in 2022 when Leonard was outside linebackers coach.
Robinson served as the Ravens’ outside linebackers coach for the past two seasons and assistant defensive line coach in 2024. He also held a coaching fellowship in 2021-22 and worked as a defensive quality control coach in 2023 after coaching at the college level from 2017-20.
