FOOTBALL: Commanders RB Chris Rodriguez Jr. inactive vs. Cowboys
Washington Commanders running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. will miss Thursday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys due to illness, joining several teammates listed as inactive. The Commanders, struggling with a 4-11 record, face Dallas without key starters at multiple positions.

Washington Commanders running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. will not play in Thursday afternoon’s matchup against the Dallas Cowboys in Landover, Maryland.
Rodriguez’s availability became a topic of discussion earlier Thursday after he was listed as questionable on the injury report due to an illness.
The 25-year-old running back has carried the ball 96 times for 435 yards and five touchdowns in 12 games this season for the Commanders (4-11), who have lost nine of their past 10 games.
In addition to Rodriguez, Washington also listed the following players as inactive: quarterbacks Jayden Daniels and Marcus Mariota, linebacker Nick Bellore, defensive tackle Daron Payne, and left tackle Laremy Tunsil. Sam Hartman was designated as the emergency third quarterback.
For the Cowboys (6-8-1), the inactive players include linebacker DeMarvion Overshown, wide receiver Ryan Flournoy, cornerback Caelen Carson, running back Jaydon Blue, and defensive tackles Jay Toia and Perrion Winfrey.
