Dembele world's best at Globe Soccer Awards, Ronaldo honours Djokovic

Ousmane Dembele was named Best Men’s Player at the Dubai Globe Soccer Awards, while PSG and rising stars took top honors at the glitzy ceremony.

Ousmane Dembele scooped the best men's player accolade at the Dubai Globe Soccer Awards on Sunday (December 28).

The reigning Ballon d’Dor winner beat out Kylian Mbappe, Raphinha, Vitinha and Lamine Yamal to the award.

Bizarrely, tennis great Novak Djokovic took home the final prize of the night, with the 24-time Grand Slam champion receiving the inaugural Cristiano Ronaldo-inspired Globe Sports Award.

Ronaldo, who presented Djokovic with the honour, had earlier won the best player in the Middle East award, while Yamal claimed three prizes for best Under 23 player in LaLiga, best overall forward and the Maradona award.

PSG was named the best men’s team and continued their domination at the ceremony, with Desire Doue the best emerging player, Vitinha the best midfielder, Luis Campos best sporting director and Nasser Al-Khelaifi the best president.
