British Open champion Ryan Fox withdraws from 3M Open

Open Championship winner Ryan Fox has withdrawn from this week's 3M Open in Blaine, Minnesota, the PGA Tour announced on Monday.

Fox climbed from 56th to 22nd in the Official World Golf Ranking after winning the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale in Southport, England, over the weekend.

The 39-year-old New Zealander captured his first major title after birdieing four of the final six holes in the final round. He carded a 2-under-par 68 on Sunday to finish at 10-under 270 for the tournament.

Meanwhile, Italy's Stefano Mazzoli has been added to the 3M Open field after claiming the Corales Puntacana Championship in the Dominican Republic on Sunday. The 29-year-old secured the victory in just his third PGA Tour start by sinking a 24-foot birdie putt on the final hole to win by one stroke.
