San Francisco Giants powered past the Los Angeles Dodgers 9-3 on Monday night, with a balanced offensive attack led by Rafael Devers, Heliot Ramos and Willy Adames spoiling the return of Mookie Betts to the lineup.
Devers finished with two hits, two RBIs and three runs scored, while Ramos and Adames each delivered key two-run hits as San Francisco secured its second straight win and improved to three victories in four meetings against Los Angeles this season.
Betts, back after missing five weeks with a strained right oblique, went 1-for-5 with a strikeout as the Dodgers dropped their third consecutive game.
The game was tied 3-3 in the sixth inning after a solo home run by Max Muncy — his 11th of the season — but the Giants pulled away in the seventh against Dodgers reliever Alex Vesia.
Devers sparked the decisive rally by drawing a bases-loaded walk to put San Francisco ahead. Moments later, Adames drove a two-out, two-run single into right field to extend the lead.
The Giants added insurance in the ninth, scoring three more runs to put the game out of reach. Adames added his third RBI of the night with another single, while Matt Chapman also drew a bases-loaded walk to cap the inning.
Reliever Matt Gage earned the win after replacing Trevor McDonald in the sixth and retiring all five batters he faced.
Devers set the tone early with a leadoff home run in the second inning off Dodgers starter Roki Sasaki, his fifth of the season.
Ramos added a two-RBI double in the sixth to briefly put San Francisco ahead 3-2 before Los Angeles responded in the fourth with runs driven in by Muncy and a double-play groundout with the bases loaded.
McDonald allowed three runs and nine hits over 5 1/3 innings, while Sasaki was charged with three runs on six hits across five-plus innings.
San Francisco’s offense was spread throughout the lineup, with Devers, Ramos, Adames, Luis Arraez and Casey Schmitt each collecting two hits. Schmitt also scored three times.
For Los Angeles, Muncy, Freddie Freeman, Will Smith and Teoscar Hernandez each finished with two hits, with Muncy driving in two of the Dodgers’ three runs.
