Mets 3, Twins 2

Mark Vientos redeemed himself for an earlier baserunning blunder, hitting a tiebreaking single in the eighth inning to lead the New York Mets to a 3-2 victory over the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday. This win snapped the Mets' 12-game losing streak, their longest since a similar skid in 2002.

However, the victory came with a cost as shortstop Francisco Lindor left the game after experiencing tightness in his left calf. Lindor had gone 2-for-2 with an RBI infield single earlier in the game. His injury occurred the same night that Juan Soto made his return from a 15-game absence due to a strained right calf.

The Twins tied the game in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Victor Caratini and again in the sixth when Byron Buxton hit a solo homer.

Cubs 7, Phillies 2

The Chicago Cubs extended their win streak to eight games with a dominant 7-2 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies. Pete Crow-Armstrong went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, and Seiya Suzuki added a two-run homer. Ian Happ also drove in two runs, while Alex Bregman had three hits.

On the mound, Ben Brown (1-0) tossed 2 1/3 scoreless innings in relief. Meanwhile, Phillies pitcher Taijuan Walker (1-4) struggled, allowing five runs over four innings, as Philadelphia extended their losing streak to eight games.

Diamondbacks 11, Padres 7

Ildemaro Vargas powered the Arizona Diamondbacks to an 11-7 win with two home runs and five RBIs. Despite another strong game from Munetaka Murakami, who homered for a fifth consecutive game, the D-backs held off the Padres to even the series.

Nolan Arenado also homered and had four hits for Arizona, while the White Sox's Colson Montgomery homered for the fourth straight game.

Angels 7, Blue Jays 3

Nolan Schanuel homered and hit a three-run, go-ahead double to lift the Los Angeles Angels past the Toronto Blue Jays, snapping a four-game losing streak. Jose Soriano threw five shutout innings, lowering his ERA to an incredible 0.24, setting a record for the lowest ERA in a pitcher's first six starts to a season since earned runs became official.

Mike Trout also homered and scored twice. Ernie Clement went 3-for-5 for the Blue Jays, whose three-game winning streak came to an end.

Yankees 4, Red Sox 1

Amed Rosario’s three-run homer in the first inning was all the New York Yankees needed in a 4-1 victory over the Boston Red Sox. Max Fried (3-1) pitched eight shutout innings, allowing just three hits. The Yankees were close to a third consecutive shutout but allowed a run in the ninth when Jarren Duran hit an RBI single.

Duran had three hits for Boston, while Ranger Suarez (1-2) took the loss.

Mariners 5, Athletics 4

Josh Naylor hit a game-winning single in the bottom of the ninth to give the Seattle Mariners a 5-4 win over the Oakland Athletics. Cal Raleigh, who homered for the third consecutive game, sparked the rally with a two-out single.

Andres Munoz (3-2) blew the save but earned the win for Seattle.

Astros 2, Guardians 0

Yordan Alvarez’s two-run homer and Peter Lambert’s six shutout innings led the Houston Astros to a 2-0 victory over the Cleveland Guardians. Lambert (1-1) struck out eight, allowing just three hits.

The Guardians' Chase DeLauter had two of Cleveland's five hits in the loss.

Giants 3, Dodgers 0

Patrick Bailey’s three-run homer in the seventh inning gave the San Francisco Giants a 3-0 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Shohei Ohtani pitched six shutout innings, but it was Bailey’s big hit off reliever Jack Dreyer that provided the offense.

The Dodgers’ Tyler Mahle (1-3) combined with two relievers to keep the game close but ultimately fell short.

Braves 8, Nationals 6

Michael Harris II hit two home runs, and Matt Olson added a three-run shot as the Atlanta Braves rallied from a three-run deficit to defeat the Washington Nationals 8-6.

Dylan Lee (1-0) pitched a scoreless inning for the win, while Robert Suarez recorded his second save. Washington's James Wood and Daylen Lile homered in the loss.

Pirates 8, Rangers 4

Nick Gonzales scored the go-ahead run in the ninth inning, and Oneil Cruz added a three-run homer to give the Pittsburgh Pirates an 8-4 win over the Texas Rangers. Gonzales scored after a pinch-hit slow roller by Jake Mangum.

Josh Jung homered for the Rangers, who saw their three-game win streak snapped.

Marlins 4, Cardinals 1

Janson Junk allowed just one hit and a walk over five innings, leading the Miami Marlins to a 4-1 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals. Jakob Marsee drove in two runs for the Marlins, who won the series finale.

Kyle Leahy (2-3) took the loss for St. Louis.

Rays 6, Reds 1

Nick Martinez pitched eight strong innings to lead the Tampa Bay Rays to a 6-1 victory over the Cincinnati Reds. Junior Caminero homered, and Yandy Diaz had three hits and an RBI.

The Reds' Brandon Williamson (2-2) allowed five runs over 4 1/3 innings, ending their five-game win streak.

Orioles 8, Royals 6

Coby Mayo hit a three-run homer as the Baltimore Orioles rallied for a 8-6 win over the Kansas City Royals. Mayo’s blast highlighted a six-run sixth inning.

Michael Wacha (2-1) earned the win, while the Royals’ Vinnie Pasquantino and Carter Jansen also homered in the loss.

Tigers 5, Brewers 2

Spencer Torkelson’s two-run homer and Kerry Carpenter’s solo blast propelled the Detroit Tigers to a 5-2 win over the Milwaukee Brewers.

Casey Mize (2-1) allowed just one run in six-plus innings for the win. Kenley Jansen recorded his sixth save.

Rockies 8, Padres 3

Hunter Goodman homered and doubled twice to lead the Colorado Rockies to an 8-3 win over the San Diego Padres.

Tomoyuki Sugano (2-1) tossed 5 2/3 strong innings, and TJ Rumfield, Jake McCarthy, and Willi Castro each had two hits for Colorado. -Field Level Media/Reuters
