Seattle Mariners snapped their three-game losing streak with a 6-1 win over the visiting Chicago White Sox on Monday night, powered by key home runs from Colt Emerson and Julio Rodríguez and a dominant outing from Bryan Woo.

Emerson delivered a memorable moment in his first major league hit, launching a three-run homer in the eighth inning to right field that helped break the game open. The Mariners’ top prospect was recently called up from Triple-A Tacoma, stepping in amid roster changes and immediately making an impact at the big league level.

Rodríguez set the tone early, driving a solo home run to right-center in the first inning off White Sox rookie left-hander Noah Schultz. His early blast gave Seattle an immediate lead and momentum they would not relinquish.

Seattle extended its advantage in the third inning following a controversial obstruction call. After Randy Arozarena doubled and a collision occurred near second base, Jhonny Pereda was awarded home despite being initially thrown out, a ruling that stood after a review by the umpires. White Sox manager Will Venable was ejected after disputing the decision.

The Mariners added another run in the sixth when Josh Naylor singled in Arozarena, who had advanced to third on a passed ball, pushing the lead further out of reach.

Chicago avoided a shutout in the seventh when Tristan Peters homered for the second straight game, connecting off Mariners reliever Eduard Bazardo with two outs.

On the mound, Bryan Woo improved to 4-2 after delivering six scoreless innings for Seattle. He allowed just three hits, walked two, and struck out eight while retiring the final 11 batters he faced. Schultz, meanwhile, took the loss after allowing three runs over 5 1/3 innings, striking out six without issuing a walk.

The Mariners sealed the win in the eighth with Emerson’s three-run blast off Trevor Richards, capping a strong offensive performance and securing the series momentum shift. -Field Level Media/Reuters
