Aaron Nola delivered a dominant six-inning shutout performance, while Bryce Harper powered the lone run with a home run as the visiting Philadelphia Phillies edged the Miami Marlins, 1-0, on Monday in the series finale of their four-game set.
Nola (2-3) produced his strongest start of the 2026 season in front of an announced crowd of 7,626 fans—including 167 dogs—at the ballpark. He scattered five hits, issued no walks, and struck out five over 94 efficient pitches to keep Miami off the scoreboard.
Harper provided all the offense Philadelphia needed, finishing 3-for-4 at the plate. The Phillies won three of four games in the series and improved to 6-1 since Don Mattingly took over as interim manager.
Miami starter Janson Junk (2-3) also pitched well in a losing effort, allowing one run on five hits across 5 1/3 innings. He struck out six without a walk. Jakob Marsee and Kyle Stowers each contributed two singles for the Marlins, but Miami was unable to push a run across.
The game’s only run came in the third inning when Harper connected on a 1-1 sweeper and drove it into the bullpen in right-center field for his seventh home run of the season. Miami had chances but struggled to capitalize, including back-to-back caught stealing plays at second base in the third and fourth innings.
Philadelphia’s bullpen preserved the narrow lead. Tanner Banks, José Alvarado, and Brad Keller combined for three scoreless innings to close out the win. Keller earned his second save despite allowing a leadoff single in the ninth, as Miami was ultimately retired after a double play ended the threat. -Field Level Media/Reuters
