Oswald Peraza drove in three runs, while Jo Adell and Wade Meckler added two RBIs each as the Los Angeles Angels rolled to a 10-1 victory over the Houston Astros on Tuesday night.

Meckler scored three runs and reached base five times, drawing three walks, collecting a hit and reaching once on an error. Peraza and Adell each finished with two hits for the Angels, who snapped a recent slump after losing six of their previous eight games.

Sebastian Rivero also had two hits before leaving the game with a left wrist injury in the fifth inning. His streak of seven consecutive hits ended after he fouled off a pitch and was unable to continue the at-bat.

Walbert Urena pitched five scoreless innings to earn his third straight win. The right-hander allowed three hits, walked five and struck out seven before turning the game over to the bullpen.

Houston starter Kai-Wei Teng struggled on the mound, surrendering seven runs, five of them earned, on seven hits over four innings. He struck out five and walked three.

The Angels took control early, scoring two runs in the first inning without recording a hit. They added five more runs in the second, highlighted by a two-run double from Meckler and another two-run double from Adell to build a commanding 7-0 lead.

Los Angeles first baseman Nolan Schanuel exited before the fourth inning because of left calf tightness.

The Astros avoided a shutout in the seventh inning when Brice Matthews delivered an RBI single. Houston had loaded the bases after a single by Collin Price and a walk to Isaac Paredes.

The Angels added three more runs over the final two innings. Trey Mancini drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the eighth, while Peraza and Denzer Guzman each contributed an RBI to complete the scoring.

Matthews accounted for Houston's lone run as the Astros fell after winning three of their previous four games. -Field Level Media/Reuters
