VP Sara Duterte, Senators Bong Go and Robin Padilla top Pulse Asia electoral survey

Vice President Sara Duterte remains the leading choice for president in the 2028 elections while Senator Christopher "Bong" Go leads the vice presidential race and Senator Robinhood Padilla tops the senatorial contest, according to the latest Pulse Asia survey released on Wednesday.

The polling firm conducted its "Ulat ng Bayan" survey from June 28 to July 6 through face-to-face interviews with 2,400 registered voters aged 18 and above nationwide.

In the hypothetical presidential race, Duterte garnered 49% voter preference, placing her 23 percentage points ahead of Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo, who received 26%.

The rest of the field trailed with Sen. Raffy Tulfo at 14%, Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon and Baguio City Mayor Benjie Magalong at 1% each, and Metropolitan Manila Development Authority General Manager Nicolas Torre at 0.1%.

Duterte drew her strongest support from Mindanao, where she received 87%, followed by the Visayas with 53%, Metro Manila with 39%, and Balance Luzon with 31%.

Robredo, meanwhile, posted her highest numbers in Metro Manila at 38%, followed by Balance Luzon at 31%, the Visayas at 27%, and Mindanao at 8%.

Pulse Asia also found Duterte leading in five additional presidential matchups that paired her separately against Robredo, Raffy Tulfo, Sen. Erwin Tulfo, Sen. Bam Aquino and Sen. Risa Hontiveros.

For the vice presidency, Go emerged as the preferred candidate with 27%, ahead of Padilla with 21%.

Aquino and former Sen. Grace Poe tied at 14%, followed by Erwin Tulfo with 9%, Sen. Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan with 4%, and Torre with 0.5%.

Go posted his highest support in Mindanao at 47%, followed by the Visayas at 30%, Metro Manila at 21%, and Balance Luzon at 17%.

Padilla, meanwhile, received 38% in Mindanao, 17% each in the Visayas and Balance Luzon, and 10% in Metro Manila.

The survey also found that 89% of respondents were interested in the 2028 elections, although only 19% said they had already completed a full 12-person senatorial slate.

In the hypothetical Senate race, Padilla ranked first with 48.4%, narrowly ahead of Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto with 47.9%.

They were followed by Raffy Tulfo (43.9%), Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano (43.2%), Sen. Loren Legarda (40.3%), former Sen. Manny Pacquiao (35.6%), Makati City Mayor Nancy Binay (32.4%),

Education Secretary Sonny Angara (27.2%), Sen. Mark Villar (26.1%), Ben Tulfo (20.7%), Sen. Jinggoy Estrada (19.5%), and television host Willie Revillame (19%).

Also falling within the survey's projected winning range were Sen. Francis "Chiz" Escudero (17.2%), former Rep. Mike Defensor (17.1%), former Sen. Mar Roxas (17.1%), Cabinet Secretary Benhur Abalos (17%), and Mark Lapid (16.9%).
