The May 2028 national and local elections is roughly 20 months away but a huge majority of Filipino adults are already expressing strong engagement in the upcoming polls, according to the latest nationwide survey released by Pulse Asia Research, Inc. The September 2026 Ulat ng Bayan survey revealed that 89% of Filipino adults are interested in the 2028 elections, with 57% describing themselves as "truly interested" and 31% as "somewhat interested." High levels of electoral interest were recorded across all geographic areas (85% to 97%) and socioeconomic classes (87% to 89%). Presidential Preference Findings The survey, conducted nationwide from September 17 to 24, 2026, evaluated voter preferences across multiple candidate lineups for the presidency: 1. Main Candidate Lineup (Seven Candidates) In a broader hypothetical contest, half of Filipino adults (50%) voiced preference for Vice President Sara Duterte as their top choice for president. Survey Period: September 17 to 24, 2026 Sample Size: 2,400 representative adults (18 years old and above) Margin of Error: ±2% nationwide at a 95% confidence level (±4% for Metro Manila, Rest of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao) Methodology: Face-to-face interviews independently conducted by Pulse Asia Research, Inc.
