VP Sara Duterte tops early 2028 presidential poll — Pulse Asia

Vice President Sara Duterte emerged as the frontrunner in the race for the 2028 Philippine presidency, topping potential contenders in the latest Pulse Asia nationwide survey.

The "Ulat ng Bayan" survey released on July 22, 2026 — was conducted from June 28 to July 6 through face-to-face interviews with 2,400 adult respondents. The survey showed that nearly half of Filipinos (49%) would vote for Duterte if the election were held today. Former Vice President and current Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo ranked second with 26%, trailing the current Vice President by 23 percentage points.

Senator Raffy Tulfo placed third at 14%. Trailing further behind were:

• Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon and Baguio City Mayor Benjie Magalong, who both polled at 1%, and
  

• Metropolitan Manila Development Authority General Manager Nicolas Torre III garnered 0.1%.
  

Survey breakdown by region Geographically, Duterte established an overwhelming lead in Mindanao, where she captured 87% of voter preference.

She also maintained strong support across the Visayas (53%), Metro Manila (39%), and Balance Luzon (31%).

By comparison, Robredo pulled an equal support with Duterte in Metro Manila (38%) and Balance Luzon (31%).

However, Robredo's support dipped in the Visayas (27%) and fell sharply in Mindanao (8%).

Pulse Asia also tested five alternative head-to-head scenarios, with Duterte maintaining her lead against Robredo, Senators Raffy Tulfo and Erwin Tulfo, and Senators Bam Aquino and Risa Hontiveros. -Paraluman News
