South Korea minister offers to quit amid allegations of getting funds from Unification Church

South Korea’s Minister of Oceans and Fisheries, Chun Jae-soo, announced on Thursday that he intends to step down from his position in order to focus on disproving allegations that he received improper funds from the Unification Church.

Chun stated that he is resigning to ensure that the ongoing controversy does not negatively affect the work of President Lee Jae-myung’s administration or the ministry. The minister emphasized that he is committed to proving that the allegations against him are "completely false." -Jack Kim/Reuters
