Senator Robin Padilla tops Pulse Asia's 2028 Senate preference survey

Senator Robinhood Padilla led the field in the latest Pulse Asia survey on the 2028 senatorial race, with Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto close behind.

The "Ulat ng Bayan" survey, conducted from June 28 to July 6 among 2,400 respondents nationwide, found Padilla receiving 48.4% voter preference, placing him in the projected first to second rank.

Sotto followed with 47.9%, ranking between first and third, while Senator Raffy Tulfo placed next with 43.9%.

Completing the top six were Senator Alan Peter Cayetano with 43.2%, Senator Loren Legarda with 40.3%, and former Senator Manny Pacquiao with 35.6%.

Also within the survey's projected winning circle were Makati City Mayor Nancy Binay (32.4%), Education Secretary Sonny Angara (27.2%), Senator Mark Villar (26.1%), Ben Tulfo (20.7%), Senator Jinggoy Estrada (19.5%), and television host Willie Revillame (19%).

Pulse Asia also listed several personalities who remain within striking distance of the winning circle, including Senator Francis "Chiz" Escudero (17.2%), former Rep. Mike Defensor (17.1%), former Senator Mar Roxas (17.1%), Cabinet Secretary Benhur Abalos (17%), and Mark Lapid (16.9%).

The survey likewise found that while 89% of respondents said they were interested in the 2028 elections, only 19% had already completed a full 12-candidate senatorial slate.
