Senator Loren Legarda’s return to the Senate remains uncertain as she continues to undergo treatment for a serious lung illness, Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri said Thursday.
Speaking at a press conference, Zubiri said Legarda intends to return to the Philippines as soon as she can but must first complete a series of medical tests.
“She wants to come home as soon as possible, tatapusin lang test,” Zubiri said.
Zubiri could not say whether Legarda’s absence would have to be extended, citing the seriousness of her condition.
“I don’t know. Serious condition niya,” he said.
He said Legarda is receiving medical care for a lung illness that requires extensive treatment.
“It’s a lung illness, seeking medical attention which need heavy medical attention. Serious matter,” he said.
Zubiri also appealed for understanding from the public and Legarda’s fellow senators as she continues her treatment.
“I think she is in the hospital. Tayong mga Pinoy, bigyan naman ng konting consideration,” he said. -Paraluman News
