Senator Bato dela Rosa breaks silence on social media on his 64th birthday

Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa broke his silence on Wednesday through social media, posting a message on his 64th birthday.

Dela Rosa has been absent in the Senate since November 2025, when Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla stated that a warrant of arrest had already been issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

As the former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, Dela Rosa is being charged with crimes against humanity related to former President Rodrigo Duterte administration’s deadly war on drugs, though no arrest warrant for Dela Rosa has been issued to date.

In a Facebook post, Dela Rosa assured the public that he is alive, in good health, and happily celebrating his 64th birthday on January 21.

He said he is patiently awaiting justice and, if any cases are filed against him, he will face them when the proper opportunity arises.

The senator also indicated that he has no intention of surrendering to or appearing before the ICC, describing it as a disregard for the sacrifices of Filipino heroes and soldiers in the fight for the country’s freedom.

Dela Rosa challenged his critics, asking why they are so eager to turn over a fellow Filipino to foreign authorities, questioning their morals, and condemning attempts to undermine the nation’s sovereignty.

He assured the public that he remains patient, calm, and dignified despite the ongoing situation.
