Senator Alan Cayetano warns truth, Constitution under attack
Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano has called on Filipinos to embrace what he described as the principles of "Katotohanan, Konstitusyon, at Paglaban sa Korapsyon" (KKK), saying the country must defend truth, uphold the Constitution and strengthen the fight against corruption amid what he claimed is a growing pattern of "kuyog, kaso, kulong."

Speaking during a Facebook livestream, Cayetano said the KKK framework should guide the public in confronting key national issues, including the impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte, the flood control controversy and the Philippines' relations with foreign countries.
"Ano y’ung KKK natin? Unang-una po, Katotohanan. We have to fight for the truth," he explained.
He also stressed the importance of protecting the Constitution, warning that institutions are weakened when laws are manipulated for political purposes.
"Ang ating pong rules ay y’ung Konstitusyon. Walang society ang uunlad ng walang rules. Dapat fair at may justice y’ung rules na y’an. Pero ang rule ngayon ay ‘bend the law,’ ‘bend the Constitution.’
"When we bend the law, especially when we bend the Constitution, we weaken our institutions [and] it promotes corruption,” he said.
Cayetano then called for a stronger campaign against corruption, contrasting his proposed KKK framework with what he described as the government's pattern of "kuyog, kaso, kulong."
"Ano ba [ang] sistema ng gobyerno ngayon? Una, kuyog. Basta't mag-ingay ka, kukuyugin ka muna. Kung hindi ka makuha sa kuyog, kakasuhan ka na. Ang pangatlo nila ay ikukulong ka. So, kuyog, kaso, kulong."
The minority leader also rejected claims that critics of the government are not being intimidated. He challenged, "Doon sa nagsasabing hindi sila nag-iintimidate... you think the Filipino people are stupid? That's your opinion. Matalino po ang Pilipino."
Cayetano urged Filipinos not to lose sight of the country's larger challenges and to continue defending truth, the Constitution and the fight against corruption.
"Once na nariyan na y’ung attack dogs, let's not be distracted. We have two choices: Kuyog, Kaso, Kulong or ipaglaban natin na lumabas ang Katotohanan, ipaglaban natin ang spirit ng Konstitusyon, at tanggaling ang Korapsyon.”
“Pray, be active, discuss, kumilos po tayo... maganda plano ni Lord, sana y’un ang piliin natin."
