President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on April 9, Araw ng Kagitingan, urged Filipinos to embody courage in their daily decisions, service, and principles.

He emphasized that the nation’s true strength is reflected in how its people unite and support one another.

He also noted that while the country faces evolving challenges, values such as compassion, unity, and patriotism must remain constant.

President Marcos recently paid tribute to the bravery and sacrifices of Filipino heroes who fought for our freedom.

He noted that their example continues to inspire citizens to persevere for the welfare of both their families and the nation.

He likewise encouraged Filipinos to live with integrity and courage as part of the broader goal of achieving a "Bagong Pilipinas" or a new Philippines where citizens can thrive.

Araw ng Kagitingan commemorates the heroism of Filipino and American soldiers who defended Bataan against Japanese forces during World War II.
