President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. confirms at the “Kapihan with the Media” press conference in Singapore on Sunday, October 11, the resignation of Department of Information and Communications Technology secretary Henry Aguda and the designation of People's Television Network General Manager Lino Cayetano as the new Presidential Communications Office secretary.
Marcos said the Palace wanted to withhold the announcement of Aguda's resignation until a replacement is named, but Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla "spilled the beans," in relation to the investigation on ghost connectivity projects.
Former Taguig mayor and congressman Cayetano, also a film director, would be the sixth PCO chief of the Marcos administration, replacing Dave Gomez.
Gomez, who served for 15 months, was bypassed by the Commission on Appointments.
