Senator Erwin Tulfo urged overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in France, Saudi Arabia, and Israel to exercise extra caution amid reported security incidents in their respective locations.

In a press statement, Tulfo, vice chairman of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, advised Filipinos in France, particularly those in Paris, to remain vigilant amid violent clashes between protesters and authorities, as well as reports of looting.

“To our fellowmen in France, take double precaution especially in going to work because of massive riots and looting,” Tulfo said.

He also cautioned Filipino workers in Saudi Arabia to monitor news reports before leaving for work.

“For those in Saudi Arabia, be extra careful and mindful of the news before coming to work because there are bombing attacks by Iran-backed Houthis, like what happened to the seven OFWs who were wounded due to the attack at the King Khalid International Airport,” he said.

Meanwhile, Tulfo advised OFWs in Israel to avoid traveling to the West Bank as much as possible amid alleged attacks by masked Israeli settlers against some foreigners.

The senator also called on Filipinos to pray for the safety of OFWs abroad and the families they have left behind in the Philippines.
