Vice President Sara Duterte called on government employees to uphold honesty and preserve public trust as she joined the local government of Santa Elena, Camarines Norte, in celebrating Civil Service Month.
In a Facebook post, Duterte highlighted the annual observance as a moment to honor the establishment of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) on September 19, 1900, while recognizing the dedication, integrity, and competence of public servants in strengthening the nation's democracy. September is observed as National Civil Service Month in the Philippines.
“Hindi lahat ay nabibigyan ng pribilehiyo na mapaglingkuran ang ating bansa (Not everyone is given the privilege to serve our country),” Duterte said in her post on Wednesday (September 30, 2026).
On the same day that Duterte published her post about Civil Service Month, the Supreme Court released a press briefing about the High Tribunal's decision on three petitions about the lowering of the impeachment voting threshold.

Amid her legal woes, Duterte reminded government workers that holding a public office is both a privilege and a trust that must be guarded carefully.
“Kaya naman, bilang mga kawani ng pamahalaan, tayo ay mapalad sa ipinagkaloob sa atin na tiwala (That is why, as government employees, we are fortunate to be given this trust),” she added.
Duterte urged civil servants to remain steadfast in their duties and embody the core national values: maka-Diyos, maka-tao, makakalikasan, at makabansa (godly, humane, environmentally conscious, and patriotic).
“Mahalin natin ang Pilipinas—para sa Diyos, sa Bayan, at sa bawat Pamilyang Pilipino (Let us love the Philippines—for God, for the country, and for every Filipino family),” she said.
