BEIJING — Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met his Danish counterpart Lars Loekke Rasmussen in Copenhagen on Thursday, marking the first stop of Wang’s visit to the Nordic countries, China’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement released early Friday.


During the meeting, Wang said he hoped Denmark would play a “constructive role in promoting the healthy and stable development of EU-China relations.” He emphasized that Beijing is open to expanding economic engagement with European partners and encouraging greater Danish investment in China.


Wang also said China was willing to deepen cooperation with Denmark in key sectors, including science and innovation, green shipping, healthcare, and tourism, underscoring Beijing’s interest in strengthening practical bilateral ties amid global economic uncertainty.
