The Jumanji franchise is finally returning with a new adventure as Columbia Pictures Philippines unveiled the poster for “Jumanji: Open World,” opening in cinemas on January 13, 2027.

The poster features returning stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan alongside several animals.

Its tagline, “Two Worlds Collide. One Final Game,” hints at the challenges awaiting the characters in what is described as the franchise’s final installment.

Directed by Jake Kasdan, the film reunites the main cast, with Johnson reprising his role as Dr. Smolder Bravestone, Hart as Franklin "Mouse" Finbar, Black as Professor Sheldon Oberon, and Gillan as Ruby Roundhouse. The cast also includes Alex Wolff, Madison Iseman, Morgan Turner, Ser'Darius Blain, Nick Jonas, and Danny DeVito.

Kasdan co-wrote the screenplay with Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg. Johnson also serves as a producer, alongside Matt Tolmach, Kasdan, Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia. The film is based on Jumanji, the 1981 children’s picture book by Chris Van Allsburg.

Following “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” and “Jumanji: The Next Level”, the new installment takes the adventure beyond the game itself. Surprisingly, the trailer shows animals escaping into the real world.

The franchise began with the 1995 film “Jumanji,” directed by Joe Johnston and starring the late actor Robin Williams, Kirsten Dunst, Bonnie Hunt, and Jonathan Hyde.

The movie's concept was later reimagined with “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.” The film follows four teenagers who become trapped in a video game and take on the forms of adult avatars.

Released in December 2017, “Welcome to the Jungle” grossed more than $960 million worldwide. Its 2019 sequel, “The Next Level,” earned over $801 million globally.

“Jumanji: Open World” opens in US theaters on Christmas Day, December 25, weeks ahead of the Philippine release.
