Netflix has announced the addition of  A-list cast members to its upcoming live-action adaptation of "Solo Leveling."

The casting coup assembles several familiar Korean stars alongside lead actor Byeon Woo-seok, best known for “Lovely Runner.” The newly announced lineup includes Han So-hee, Kang You-seok, Sung Joon, Lee Sung-min, and Jung Ji-hoon, also known as Rain.

The series follows Sung Jin-woo (played by Byeon), a Hunter who begins his journey as the weakest of his kind. After a near-death experience awakens his hidden potential, he gradually rises to become the world’s strongest Hunter. As his powers grow, he faces dangerous monsters and sinister forces emerging through mysterious gates that threaten humanity.

Han So-hee, known for “My Name” and “Gyeongseong Creature,” will play Cha Hae-in, the only female S-rank Hunter. A formidable fighter who rides a motorcycle and wields a longsword, Cha is known for her combat skills. Han’s resemblance to the character, along with her experience in action-oriented roles, makes her a notable addition to the cast.

Meanwhile, Kang You-seok, who starred in “Resident Playbook,” will play Yoo Jinho. A C-rank Hunter and the second son of the wealthy Yoojin Group family, Jinho joins Jin-woo on a dungeon quest.

Sung Joon, whose credits include “The Fiery Priest 2” and “Island,” will take on the role of Woo Jinchul, an A-rank Hunter and chief inspector of the Korean Hunters Association’s Surveillance Team. He is responsible for monitoring Hunters and is the first to suspect that Jin-woo has awakened new powers.

Two more established stars will appear in special roles. Lee Sung-min, known for “Teach You a Lesson,” will portray Go Gunhee, a retired top-tier Hunter who serves as chairman of the Korean Hunters Association.

Jung Ji-hoon, popularly known as Rain (“Full House,” “Bloodhounds Season 2”), will also make a special appearance as Baek Yoonho, an S-rank Hunter with the ability to transform into a beast.

The upcoming Netflix series marks another expansion for “Solo Leveling,” a franchise that originated as a web novel before growing into a global property through webtoons, animation, and video games. Its transition to live action brings the story of Jin-woo and the Hunter world to a new format and to a bigger international audience.

The anime adaptation has also received significant recognition including the 2025 Crunchyroll Anime Awards. It became the first Korean animation to win across nine major categories, including Anime of the Year, Best Action, and Best Character.
