BLACKPINK fans are calling on YG Entertainment, the group’s agency, to prepare more group-focused activities for BLACKPINK’s 10th debut anniversary, saying the milestone deserves a bigger celebration involving both the members and Blinks.
Fan communities, including BLACKPINK Global Fanbase and BLACKPINK Blink Union, have expressed disappointment and frustration over the current anniversary plans, which they feel are limited compared to the significance of BLACKPINK reaching a decade in the music industry.
As part of its BLACKPINK 10th anniversary preparations, YG Entertainment announced projects including the “Heritage Collection,” a collaboration with the National Museum of Korea’s merchandise brand MU:DS consisting of seven commemorative items.
However, many fans said they were hoping for additional group activities, such as special content, a live broadcast, a fan event, or another opportunity for Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa to celebrate the milestone together with fans.
BLACKPINK Blink Union shared a statement on X addressing the group, saying fans understand that the members are currently focusing on their individual solo careers but hope the 10th anniversary will still be given meaningful attention.
The fan coalition said Blinks are not demanding a world tour or constant activities, but are hoping for “just one day” on August 8 to celebrate the 10 years BLACKPINK and their fans have shared together.
The statement added that fans appreciate the members’ love and support but hope to experience that gratitude through actions.
“Truthfully, it's heartbreaking, but if the members turned on an Instagram Live for even just a few minutes on the 10th anniversary, fans would react like they'd received the greatest gift in the world,” the statement said.
“Ten years is a once-in-a-lifetime milestone. All we hope is that this moment isn't one that slips by quietly, but a precious one we remember as shared and celebrated together,” it added.
BLACKPINK Global Fanbase, a verified fan account with more than 1.2 million followers on X, also shared similar sentiments, saying many Blinks miss the connection, laughter, and excitement of seeing the group together.
“BLINKs aren’t asking for perfection. We’re simply asking to celebrate the 10 years we’ve shared together,” the account wrote while tagging BLACKPINK and YG Entertainment’s official accounts.
BLACKPINK debuted on August 8, 2016, with members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa. Over the past decade, the group has become one of K-pop’s biggest global acts.
In its “BLACKPINK 10th ANNIVERSARY Special Gift Notice,” YG Entertainment said it prepared special gifts to thank BLINKs for their support. The agency announced the “BLACKPINK 10th ANNIVERSARY Badge” for Weverse Membership holders and a special fan letter template where fans can share anniversary messages and memories.
YG Entertainment also released a commemorative message expressing gratitude to Blinks for supporting BLACKPINK throughout the past decade.
However, some fans continue to call for more anniversary activities featuring the full group, saying BLACKPINK’s 10th anniversary should be celebrated in a way that reflects the bond between the members and the fans who have supported them since their debut.
