BINI members eyeing solo projects in 2027

BINI member Maloi Ricalde recently hinted that all eight members of the group may explore individual projects in 2027 as they prepare to pursue opportunities outside their group activities.

In an episode of the YouTube vlog “Yani’s Room,” Maloi shared that the members are gradually adjusting to the idea of pursuing separate ventures after years of working together.

"Actually next year parang magbe-venture out na kami to solo ganaps. So, medyo naga-adjust na kami kasi nasanay kami na intact kami. 7 years intact kami since 2019," she shared.

"So, magta-try kami na mag-explore other other fields kung saan man kami komportable namin gusto," she added.

Aside from exploring individual projects, the 24-year-old singer also expressed her desire to go back to school when her schedule allows.

“Actually ‘pag nagkaroon talaga ng time, mag-aaral talaga ako. Parang mas pipiliin ko sya kesa magbakasyon sa ibang bansa, mag-vacation somewhere. Mas gusto ko na mag-aaral ako,” she said.

Maloi graduated from senior high school in 2024 under the Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) strand. All seven of her fellow BINI members—Aiah, Colet, Gwen, Jhoanna, Mikha, Sheena, and Stacey—have also completed senior high school.

Maloi also expressed interest in pursuing acting, although she admitted that her lack of experience makes her hesitant about entering the industry.

“Naiisip ko... Ang nagbo-bother [lang] sa akin is anong credibility ko. Anong experience ko. Wala pa akong experience sa acting.’”

But if given the opportunity, Maloi said she would like an acting project in the romcom genre.

“Nagli-lean din talaga iyong heart ko sa romcom. Pero also, gusto ko ng something unexpected. Kunwari love story tapos biglang mamamatay sa dulo. Yung mga tragic love story, gusto ko yung mga ganon.”

Among the directors she dreams of working with are Antoinette Jadaone and Irene Villamor. She also named Bela Padilla and JC Santos as actors she hopes to work with.

Maloi had previously appeared in music videos, including Rob Deniel’s “RomCom” and Maki’s “Dilaw.” Other BINI members have also appeared in music videos by fellow artists.

Meanwhile, BINI is set to continue its “Signals” World Tour with a performance in Singapore on October 25, followed by a show in Taiwan on November 15. 

As the group continues its international activities, fans may get to see more of the members’ individual interests and talents through projects beyond BINI.
