Germany expects to sign submarine deal with India 'soon', says defence minister
Germany is set to soon finalize an $8 billion submarine cooperation deal with India, with Defence Minister Boris Pistorius expressing confidence that signing could happen within the next three months. The agreement is being led by German warship maker thyssenkrupp Marine Systems and India’s Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders.

Germany expects to soon sign a final agreement with India for a planned $8 billion submarine cooperation between the two countries, Defence Minister Boris Pistorius told reporters on Wednesday (April 22).
"I am very confident that I will be able to sign it soon," Pistorius said, adding he expected a signing within the next three months.
The planned deal has been in the making for months and is spearheaded by German warship maker TKMS and India's Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders.
