Barcelona draws crowds as Spain tourism grows 2% from 2025

Barcelona’s landmarks were packed with tourists during the Easter holidays, as new data showed continued growth in foreign holidaymakers arriving to Spain.

According to figures released on Wednesday (April 1) by Spain’s National Statistics Institute, the number of international tourists visiting the country rose 2.8% in February compared with a year earlier. Overall, arrivals in January and February were up 2% from the same period in 2025.

Barcelona remains one of Spain’s most popular destinations. The city received 16 million visitors in 2025, a 2.9% increase from 2024, according to the Barcelona Tourism Observatory.

Sagrada Familia, the city’s most visited attraction, welcomed nearly 4.9 million visitors in 2025. Data from the Sagrada Familia Foundation shows the largest numbers of visitors came from the United States, China, Italy and France.
