The Marcos administration has approved a new government aid package for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) returning from the Middle East due to the current crisis.

Under this package, qualified OFWs can withdraw up to 100 percent of their PAG-IBIG regular savings, including all contributions and dividends, regardless of the 20-year maturity period.

Beneficiaries may also access their Modified PAG-IBIG 2 (MP2) savings and earned interest ahead of the standard five-year term.

The initiative also includes a three-month moratorium on PAG-IBIG housing loan payments.

During this period, no penalties or additional interest will be charged, and loan terms will be extended by three months to provide financial relief.

According to Palace Press Officer and Presidential Communications Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro, these measures were approved to provide immediate assistance to those impacted by the regional tensions.

The government is also working with various agencies to offer reintegration support to help displaced workers transition back to life in the Philippines.

Officials described the initiative as part of a broader “bayanihan” effort to support returning OFWs, many of whom were forced to cut short their employment abroad due to escalating tensions in the region.

The government is also coordinating with multiple agencies to ensure that displaced workers receive not only financial assistance but also reintegration support as they transition back to life in the Philippines.
