Missile debris from Iran strike falls on West Bank settlement school

Missile debris from Iran fell near a school in the Peduel settlement in the occupied West Bank on Sunday (March 22) residents said, as tensions with Israel continue.

Drone footage shot on Monday (March 23) showed a huge piece of debris near the school building, while children gathered around the site, some holding small fragments.

“It fell on the street next to our school… it’s enormous,” said resident and parent Imbal Kott, adding that those sheltering inside were unharmed. “It was a big miracle.”

The school, currently closed since the beginning of the Israel-Iran conflict and a shelter near the school is being used by some families in the area who are lacking protected spaces at home.

An 18-year-old resident Yedidia Rozen said locals were planning to display the debris at the entrance to the settlement and paint on it the phrase “Am Yisrael Chai” — Hebrew for “the people of Israel live” — a slogan widely used as a message of resilience.

After more than three weeks of heavy U.S. and Israeli bombardment that officials say has sharply reduced Iran’s missile capabilities, Tehran has continued to demonstrate its ability to strike back.

The Israeli military said early Monday it had begun a wide-scale wave of strikes targeting Iranian infrastructure in Tehran.
