Even as missile alerts and sirens have become a regular part of life for residents of Tel Aviv, many people were still going about their lives and crowding the beach on Wednesday (March 11) at sunset.

Since the Iran war was unleashed with joint U.S. and Israeli air strikes nearly two weeks ago, around 2,000 people have been killed, oil prices had spiked to nearly $120 a barrel before coming off the high and regional travel in the Middle East and globally were thrown into chaos.

Despite near daily sirens, Tel Aviv still retained a laid-back vibe on Wednesday, with runners at the beach and people playing volleyball.

On February 28, a U.S.-Israel air assault in Iran ignited a war now engulfing the Middle East. Iran responded with drone and missile strikes towards Israel and U.S. interests across the region.
