Amorim seeing progress as Man Utd prepare for final match of year

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim hails captain Bruno Fernandez’s leadership as the team looks to end the year with a win over Wolves.

"He cannot be that guy that is not playing is not talking, and speaking. He is always speaking. That's why he's the captain and he has bad things. Sometimes the way he move his arms, but he has a lot of good things and he's always leaving the game to practice every time. Every time he makes recovery from the game, he's the guy that he's going to watch the other guys training in that day. So there is a lot of things that you guys don't see, but that he does. He's a great leader."

STORY: Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is seeing signs of progress after a difficult 2025 in charge of the Premier League giants.

Amorim's men take on basement side Wolverhampton Wanderers in their final Premier League encounter of the year, aiming to follow up their impressive Boxing Day victory over Newcastle United with another home victory at Old Trafford.

United sit sixth in the table and face a Wolves side who have the lowest points total at this stage of the season in Premier League history.

Despite the gulf, Amorim is not taking his opponents lightly and has also lauded the impact of injured captain Bruno Fernandez, whom he called a 'great leader.'
