Netanyahu says Trump expressed no concern about Israel's post-ceasefire strikes on Gaza

Netanyahu says he and Trump align on Hamas disarmament, with the U.S. expressing no concerns over Israeli strikes on Gaza since the ceasefire.

Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, said on Tuesday (December 30) that President Trump had expressed no misgivings to him in private about Israeli strikes on Gaza after the declaration of a ceasefire that have killed more than 400 Palestinians - most of them civilians, according to Gaza health officials.

Netanyahu, who met with Trump on Monday (December 29), made the comments during an interview with Fox News anchor Bret Baier while on a visit to the United States.

Three Israeli soldiers have also been killed following the ceasefire in October.

Netanyahu said that he and Trump “saw eye to eye” on the need for the Palestinian militant group Hamas to disarm, and said he saw a “different future for Gaza”.

Netanyahu repeated earlier statements that Israel does not “seek escalation” with Iran, which fought a 12-day war with Israel in June, but raised the alarm about what he said were Iranian ballistic missile drills.
