Christopher Lawrence Go

Senator Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Go has dedicated over two decades to public service in the Philippines. 

As a long-time advocate for grassroots development, health accessibility, and sports, Go has successfully transitioned from a trusted executive adviser into a prolific legislator.

Go began his career in public service in 1998 as the Executive Assistant to then-Davao City 1st District Representative and later Philippine Presidrny Rodrigo Duterte.

Following the 2016 presidential election, Go took on a vital national role as the Special Assistant to the President (SAP).  

In 2019, he launched his senatorial bid, securing a seat in the upper chamber by placing third overall with over 20.6 million votes. 

Go has authored, co-authored, or sponsored hundreds of vital measures. Guided by his signature banner of "Tapang at Malasakit" his work centers on improving the safety, health, and standard of living for everyday Filipinos.  

As the long-time Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography, Go has pioneered structural transformations in the Philippine healthcare system.

All in all, he has principally sponsored over 80 laws specifically dedicated to upgrading equipment, expanding bed capacity, and establishing new public hospitals across various provinces

Likewise, believing that sports keep youth away from destructive vices, Go heavily invests in the athletic community as Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Sports.

Authored and co-sponsored the creation of a dedicated academy that allows elite student-athletes to pursue secondary education without sacrificing world-class sports training.  

He advocated for institutionalizing grassroots sports tournaments to scout talent across municipal levels.

Go also prioritizes proactive governance to safeguard communities during natural disasters and emergencies.

The senator likewise champions the creation of a dedicated Department of Disaster Resilience (DDR) and the construction of mandatory, typhoon-resilient evacuation centers in every province, and emergency rental housing subsidies for displaced calamity victims. 

Go also co-authored the measure to systematically increase the compensation of all civilian government employees, notably including public school teachers and nurses.
