Camille Villar

For Senator Camille Villar, the youngest among the senators of the 20th Congress, the desire to serve is personal.

The daughter of business tycoon and former Senate President Manny Villar and Senator Cynthia Villar, Camille was raised with a strong sense of purpose.

Camille was born on January 25, 1985 and grew up in Las Piñas City. 

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Management from Ateneo de Manila University and later obtained her Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Instituto de Estudios Superiores dela Empresse (IESE) Business School in Barcelona, Spain. 

She is married to Erwin Genuino, and they have two children, Tristan and Cara.

Corporate Career

Before her full transition into public service, Villar built a profile in the private sector through executive leadership roles within the Villar Group of companies. 

She was an instrumental figure in the AllValue Group (the retail arm of the Villar Group), driving the growth of brands such as AllDay Supermarket, AllHome, and Coffee Project. 

She also held pivotal management and innovation roles across Vista Land and Lifescapes, Starmalls, and Golden Bria Holdings.

Legislative Career and Key Advocacy Focuses

Villar entered the political arena in 2019 when she was elected as the Representative of Las Piñas City.

During the 19th Congress, she was appointed Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, becoming one of the youngest individuals to hold the position.

A cornerstone of her legislative work is the NEGOSENSO program, which provides small business owners and underserved communities with financial literacy, business planning, supply chain support, and microfinance access.

She champions legislation surrounding mental health awareness (tackling depression and bullying), countering teen pregnancy, protecting consumers against digital scams, and advocating for LGBTQIA+ rights and inclusion.

She actively pushes for disaster resilience, climate change mitigation, urban planning, and local flood control programs.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, her public service earned her the "Government Hero of the Year" award and a Silver Stevie Award for Female Executive of the Year in Asia, Australia, and New Zealand in 2022. 

She continues her legislative work representing her advocacies under the platform "Bagong Boses, Bagong Bukas" (New Voice, New Tomorrow).
